The producer of this popular weekly show was introduced to the Avenue Ballroom by Roland Addad, one of the partners in Real World Design Group – the graphic artists who designed our flyers, logo, and more. I met Roland through his brother and business partner, Ron Addad, who had started taking my jitterbug classes when I was holding them at Fort Mason. This show put us on the map. Sometimes, it really is who you know!

The Avenue Ballroom on KG0-TV – Ch 7’s World of People – 1981. Once Channel 5’s Evening Magazine covered us, all the other stations sent their own ‘features’ teams to cover us, as well. Note: the stations all edit their own music over the video, so the dancing and the audio frequently don’t match. But then again, the announcer got the names of the dance contest winners wrong, too!
